Spiv Casual

you know its not a very lucrative profession being a time travelling zeppelin commander and so from time to time i have to make a little bit on the side by trading various items i have *ahem* acquired during my travels. you'll often find me in a local tavern or a street corner with a suitcase full of goods, dressed fairly incognito doing my best to blend in with the punters. i get the occasional odd look and suspicious glance "Captain, what is that style?"............
spiv casual.
its quite unusual, turn up with a suitcase and silk cravat
a fly hat, some spats and a coat thats all that
making regulars chat "who's this odd little chap?"
as they yap about the captain as i set up my stash
boys in hoods giving looks as i reel out my goods
but its the patter that matters
so i give them the chatter
i know its all off the books
but I'm not really a crook
CHORUS
I've got nylons with a line up the back
I've got ten grams of earl grey, some snuff in a wrap
I've got watches, clocks in my pocket
cuban cigars and victorian lockets
anything that you need from the back of a lorry
pair of gramophone speakers? no need to worry
about getting receipts, tax, vat
if you're running out of hooch then come see me
tracksuit and a flat cap
cufflinks like a fat cat
thats how i roll
like little lord fauntleroy collecting his dole
diamond socks with the sock suspenders
with a blade in the strap
well how about that?
I've got cds by Mr B, Elemental as well, hell!
I've got tickets for Anthrax, 17 that i can't sell
dressed super sharp like a razor blade chap
tweed, adidas, lacoste
white gloves and moustache
CHORUS
diamond rings
penny farthings
antique etchings
van gogh sketches
ear trumpets
a packet of crumpets
budgerigars
credit cards
eau de toilette
a box disc set
latest styles
of marble tiles
gentleman's relish
discretely packaged
a neck massager
with double A batteries
CHORUS
peepers skinned for the peelers
they're putting out feelers
straight on my Brompton..BROMPTON
down an alley and off
like a casual toff
tip my hat to the old folks, manners don't cost a lot
pack up my wares, up the stairs
making sure nothing tears
taking care of these trousers- i haven't packed any spares
hop onto my zeppelin, shops closed for the weekend
cops at bay, chocks away
and i bid you good day!
